The Rovaniemi Psychogeographical Association is interested in ordinary and extraordinary matters, as well as investigative direct activities:
walking, drifting, meandering, everyday life, areas, everything encountered, criticism of urban planning and capitalism, play, lounging, knowledge, sensations, structures, routes, shortcuts, traces, time, slowness, silence, repetition, rhythms, chaos, accumulation, movement, change, life, and the spectacles descending upon life.
In all its unstructuredness, the society evades definitions but exists.
Since spring 2021, my explorations in Rovaniemi’s Lampela area unveil a stark contrast. While city plans depict a vibrant hub, my walks reveal dilapidation, waste, and an eerie ambiance.
Through meticulous fieldwork, I trace the area’s evolution, chronicling experiences in my blog.
With a connection spanning two decades, my former studio’s charred remains tell a tale of transformation.
From the borderland studio of Rovaniemi railway station, my art captures the interplay of urban dreams and reality.
